The Pembroke Fire Department Had an Increase in Calls in 2017

The Pembroke Fire Department has had a very busy year.

In Fire Chief Dan Herback's yearly report he says, calls to service, for 2017 were up over the previous year.

The Pembroke Fire Department responded to 408 calls to service compared with 374 in 2016. Chief Herback says the majority of those calls were for vehicle accidents.

There was a decrease in structure fires. That number was down to just 7 with Herback adding there were no major fires or major losses this year.

The Chief is also very proud of the work Pembroke Fire Fighters are doing both on and off the job, adding they strive to not only serve the community but play an active role in the community during their time off the clock.
