Theft, Fraud and Drug Charges Laid by OPP
On the evening of March 01, 2017 the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began an investigation after an unattended wallet was stolen at the Pembroke Regional Hospital. The victim's credit card was found to have been used at locations in the Pembroke area shortly after the theft. A male and female suspect were identified and on March 14, 2017 both subjects were located in a vehicle on Albert Street in the City of Pembroke. Police arrested the pair and also found both to be in possession of drugs.
As a result 25-year old Sara Doris SEVERIN of Laurentian Valley Township and 24-year old Travis James LANCE of Pembroke are each charged with the following offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and the Criminal Code (CC):
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance - Other Drug
- Theft Under $5000
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
- Fraud Under $5000 - 5 counts each
Both were released on a Promise To Appear and are scheduled to attend court on April 11, 2017 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke
These men ought to be more cautious doing their job. That being said, let's just say that the security measures seem to be rather inadequate. DISTURBING CONTENT
