Upper Ottawa Valley OPP Continue Checking Vehicles With Lock it or Lose it Campaign
Upper Ottawa Valley OPP continue their random checks of vehicles as part of their Lock it or Lose it Campaign.
On Sunday auxiliary OPP officers conducted checks of vehicles parked at the Petawawa Market Mall, Pembroke's West End Mall, and at municipal parking lots in Pembroke including the marina/amphitheatre area, Pem Ice II, and in the downtown core. Of the 258 vehicles checked, 32 vehicles were found to be unlocked and insecure. Several unlocked vehicles were seen to have valuables in plain view, including cell phones, tools and sports equipment. At the Pembroke Marina three boat trailers were found to be unlocked.
Notes were left on vehicles letting drivers know they need to better secure their belongings.
