Arsonist Pleads Guilty
The trial for a Vernon arson suspect was over before it began.
Fifty-six-year old William Munton has pleaded guilty to 12 charges of deliberately setting fires.
His trial was slated to begin Monday in Vernon, but instead he will return to court on October 15th to fix a date for sentencing.
Munton was arrested in 2016, two years after a series of arson fires were set in the Vernon arena. The largest fire destroyed the grandstands at Kin Race Track. Other fires damaged a home under construction, a boat as well as fruit bins.
