Canadian Men's Curling Championships

Cotter opened the Canadian Men's Curling Championships with an 8-7 win against Stuart Thompson from Nova Scotia.

Cotter, backed by third Steve Laycock of Saskatoon, second Tyrel Griffith of Kelowna and lead Rick Sawatsky of Vernon, needed an extra end to get the win.

The B.C. champs went on to defeat Nunavut handily yesterday...10-4.

Cotter, the defending Team Canada crew...skipped by Brad Gushue of Newfoundland & Labrador and Alberta’s Kevin Koe ...all sitting atop the Group B Pool at 2-0.
