Fatal Collision Claims the Life of Man in Lumby
On Saturday July 7th, just before 9:00 pm, the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP attended to a single vehicle collision that occurred in the 2900 block of Mabel Lake Road, Lumby BC. Officers arrived on scene to find a Ford F350, which was traveling south bound, had gone off road left and collided with a rock embankment, ejecting both the driver and passenger from the vehicle.
The driver, a 32 year old Lumby male, died as a result of the collision. The passenger, a 33 year old Vernon woman, was air lifted to the nearest medical facility for further assessment, but has since been released. Says RCMP Cst. Kelly Brett.
The investigation into the collision is still on-going, however preliminary findings show that alcohol and speed may have been a factor.
