French Immersion Update

Pitching tents and gathering around propane campfires all night paid off for parents who wanted to ensure their child would have a bilingual education.

Dozens of people spent the night outside Beairsto Elementary School for French immersion kindergarten registration.

Superintendent Joe Rogers says all the families should be accommodated. He says so far 83 children have been registered.  Rogers says they  have 80 spots in kindergarten and a year from now  can take eight more in grade one, so all the people who lined up  should be accommodated.

Registration for kindergarten, new students and school transfer requests continues until February 15th.
