Gateway Casino strike over

The Gateway Casinos strike has ended.

Members of the BC Government Employees Union ratified a new contract yesterday ending a walkout that began on June 30th in Vernon, Penticton, Kelowna and Kamloops.

Workers, who've been without a contract since September 2017, hit the bricks to back demands for higher wages.

No details of the new deal have been released.

The union represents nearly 700 workers at four Gateway casinos.
