Hiker Fall at Fintry

Vernon Search and Rescue says a Calgary hiker who fell almost 100-and-fifty feet down a waterfall at Fintry Park near Vernon is lucky to be alive let alone relatively unharmed.
North Westside Fire Department, Kelowna Fire Department, BC Ambulance Service, and Vernon Search and Rescue all responded and worked together to extricate him from his precarious position.  Rescuers say the 30-year-old Alberta man dropped his phone over the edge of the falls while trying to snap a picture, and fell  while reaching for it.
Search manager Leigh Pearson said the man likely hit the rock face several times during his tumble, which slowed him down and allowed him to plunge safely into a pool below.
