Husband Charged in Drowning

A Lake Country man charged with the second-degree murder of his wife is scheduled to make a court appearance Monday morning in Kelowna.

Police initially thought Lambertus Westervelt's wife drowned while canoeing in Okanagan Lake in June 2016.  It's now believed Arlene Westervelt was a victim of homicide.

The body of the 56-year-old was found by a police dive team a day after she went missing following a picnic by the shore.
