Lake Weeds Could Impact Tourism
The BC Government is taking a hard line on rototilling milfoil in Okanagan Lake.
The discovery of an endangered mussel has prompted the province to stop anywhere the mussel is found.
Anna Warwick Sears with the Okanagan Basin Water Board says the approach does not give consideration to other factors like recreation and water quality.
She says allowing the milfoil to grow unchecked will harm the mussels as well as tourism.
