More support for Vernon residents battling addiction
Vernon now has a new sober living complex for those fighting the battle of addiction.
The John Howard Society announced the expansion of the addictions recovery program Tuesday.
The new 10 bed sober living complex is possible thanks to the generosity of the Foord Family, who donated $220,000 towards the purchase of a home and property.
John Howard Society Co-Executive Director Kelly Fehr says the family approached the society in 2013 hoping to be part of the solution around homelessness in Vernon.
The 10 bed facility is next to Bill's place (2500 43rd Ave), and is available to both men and women exiting treatment programs.
Addictions recovery programs now operate 38 spaces in Vernon.
