Okanagan Arson Wildfires

An R-C-M-P task force has pinpointed 29 deliberately set wildfires in the Okanagan over the last four years.
Staff Sergeant Annie Linteau says the task force was formed in May to investigate  fires between July 7, 2014 and last summer close to eight Okanagan cities and towns -- from north of Lake Country south to the Osoyoos area.
The list shows at least nine fires were set near Penticton,  six broke out near Lake Country -- including the blaze last July that destroyed several homes.   Linteau says the task force has determined all the fires are connected and she says its members have the authority to investigate past and future arson-related wildfires.
