Postal strike moves to Vernon

No mail delivery Thursday in Vernon as post office workers walked off the job as part of ongoing rotating strike action.

Facilities in Cranbrook, Kamloops, Vernon, Penticton, Quesnel and Williams Lake were all behind picket lines yesterday.

Walkouts began last month at locations across Canada.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers says health and safety, gender equality and preserving full-time jobs are key issues in the dispute.
