Premier and Liberal leader square off in debate on electoral reform
Premier John Horgan and Liberal Leader Andrew Wilkinson are set to square off tonight at the Vernon library in a televised debate over electoral reform.
Voters have until November 30th to return their ballots indicating whether they support a change to proportional representation or want to stick with first-past-the-post.
Horgan says he supports proportional representation because political parties that receive 40 % of the votes should not get 100 % of political power.
Wilkinson says the referendum is too politically driven by the N-D-P and it is taking power away from voters.
The debate starts at 7 pm.
