Radiothon Sets New Record
Thanks to the generosity of the North Okanagan, Sun FM's 14th annual Have-a-Heart Radiothon hit a new record.
Donations Thursday topped $80,000.
Women's and Children's Health Services Spokesperson Yolanda Short says they will be able to purchase the Radiometers and CO2 Monitors, and will also be able to purchase more items from their long wish list. She says there are always things they need and now they may be able to purchase furniture for the Winter Garden, which is always used by families.
Short was overwhelmed with the support and praise for the staff. She says they don't expect anything from the community it's what they do, how they serve the community. Short says it is a real wonderful day and shows how much the community appreciates what they do at VJH and they appreciate the support they get.
The Radiothon has now raised over $670,000 for the department.
