Record Falls Again

The heat warning continues, including here in the North Okanagan.  Vernon broke another record Monday.  The official high was 37.4 degrees, just slightly higher than the old record of 37.3 set in 2003.

The forecast high for Tuesday is 35 degrees, which is substantially lower the record for the day of 37.7, also set in 2003.

Lytton, at 41.1 degrees, was the hottest spot in the country.

There is a new system bringing much lower temperatures.  Environment Canada says by Friday it will be cloudy with a 60 percent chance of showers and a high of 23, which is 4 degrees below the seasonal norm.

The special air quality statement also remains in effect, due to the smoke.
