Six vehicle crash in Enderby

The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP responded to a 6 vehicle collision on Highway 97A and Fenton Rd in Enderby BC over the weekend.

On June 1st, 2018 just before 7:00 pm, the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP were called to a motor vehicle collision involving 6 vehicles near Highway 97A and Fenton Road, in Enderby BC. Officers responded and learned that north bound traffic was stopped for a vehicle that was attempting to execute a left hand turn. A white Ford pick-up failed to stop in time, causing a chain reaction where several other vehicles then rear ended one another.

Three of the vehicles that were involved in the collision veered off the road in an attempt to avoid the collision, however the vehicles were un-successful and collided with both stationary vehicles and on-coming south bound traffic.

“A red Chevrolet pick-up travelling south bound was towing a boat at the time it was struck, causing the pick-up to lose the boat and trailer which ended up in the ditch”. Says Cst. Kelly Brett. “It is very fortunate there were only minor injuries with one person being transported by BC Ambulance Service to the local medical facility”.

One driver was issued a ticket for following to close under the Motor Vehicle Act. Property in the area sustained moderate damages.
