Sunny skies in the forecast for the May Long Weekend

It's looking good for anyone heading out camping this long weekend.

There's a slight chance of showers, but then Environment Canada is forecasting sunny and hot weather for the North Okanagan.

Meteorologist Alyssa Charbonneau says there's a bit of a disturbance coming through Friday night into Saturday morning but then highs in the mid 20's - up to  29 degrees by Tues.

The concern is the deep snowpack.

BC River Forecast Centre Dave Campbell spokesperson says at higher elevations the snowpack is still basically intact - with only 5% melted.

At mid-elevations half of the snow is gone.
