Tim Hortons 25th Annual Athlete of the Year Awards

The Tim Hortons 25th Annual Athlete of the Year Awards were presented last night.

Curt Minard, who competed in 2018 Paralympic Games in snowboard cross and banked slalom is the Athlete of the year.

Hannah Mehain, cross country skier, was the runner up.

The VSS Junior Panthers football team which won the BC title,  was presented with the Team of the Year.  The award was received by several team members and Coach Sean Smith.  The runner-up was the Vernon Midget Tier 3 Coca Cola Vipers hockey team.

Duncan Wray, former owner of Vernon Vipers who passed away in January  was  recognized with the Leadership award for his years with the BCHL Vernon Vipers as well as his work with the BC Hockey League.  Ian Murphy, who started a soccer league in Vernon, is this year's runner-up.
