Traffic Delays Near Marshall Field Wednesday
The cross country running season has arrived at School District 22 Vernon with students participating in the first run of the season, the Paddlewheel Push-Off. The cross country races are the biggest sports events in our district every year, with close to 1000 people attending.
On Wednesday, April 18th busses will be arriving at Marshall Field at approximately 2pm. The event will begin at 3 o'clock. The event is scheduled to wrap up at approximately 4:15pm.
The district says parking will be limited; spectators are being asked to park in the gravel parking lots and motorists in the area are urged to drive with caution.
First race is .9km for primary students, followed by a 1.3km race for students in grades 4 and 5. The Paddlewheel Push-Off finishes with the grades 6 and 7 students running a distance of 1.7km.
There are two more races coming up:
• Wednesday, April 25 - Commonage Run at the DND Fields – 3PM
• Wednesday, May 2 – Monashee Run at JW Inglis School (Lumby) – 3PM
