Vernon resident honoured by Canadian Red Cross

A local hero is being honoured today in Kelowna and inducted into the Order of the Red Cross.

Vernon resident Cor Zandbergen has been a member of the Canadian Red Cross for 16 years and has helped thousands of people during disasters in Canada and around the world.

The award is the highest honour within the organization.

Zandbergen currently leads the Red Cross North Okanagan Personal Disaster Assistance Team.

The event kicks off at 10:30 am at the Canadian Red Cross Office at 124 Adams Road in Kelowna.
