Warming Up This Week
It looks like the Okanagan may be coming out of this cold spell, at least for now.
Temperatures are expected to come out of the minus double digits this week, with highs averaging around zero.
Environment Canada Forecaster Lisa Caldwell says the warming trend is based on upper-lows crossing into B.C.
Parts of Southern B.C., including the North Okanagan, could see temperatures above zero in the daytime hours, late this week. She says, despite the rising temperatures, we can still expect some snowfall as soon as this weekend, although the getting amount that we got in the last two weeks again is unlikely.
Caldwell says at the moment that colder weather may return next week, but that so far it's difficult to tell.
On Tuesday, an inversion created temperatures at Silver Star about 10 degrees warmer than they were in Vernon.
