Wildfire Season Worries
Vernon had it's first grass fire last week in the BX.
Now Provincial Fire officials are concerned about an early start to the season with reports of two blazes burning over the weekend west of Chase in the Shuswap.
The B-C Wildfire Service says both blazes are burning on the north side of the Thompson River.
The Kamloops-Shuswap road fire is 250 hectares in size, while the River Flats fire is 100 hectares.
There's no word on the cause of either fire.
Despite the early start the Wildfire Service says the fire danger rating in our region is still low.
