94-year-old woman still unaccounted for after fire

Penticton RCMP say a 94-year-old woman remains unaccounted for after her home was engulfed in flames Wednesday evening.

The fire overtook the home near Skaha Lake Marina just after 6 pm and quickly spread to a neighbouring house.

Corporal Don Wrigglesworth says residents were able to get out safely from the second home.

Fire crews say the elderly woman's home was packed full of items which acted as fuel for the fire and also made a search of the home more difficult.

Police continue to investigate.
