Avalanche Risk Increasing

Avalanche Canada is warning about dangerous conditions in much of the Southern Interior.

Forecaster James Floyer says there is a high risk of avalanches because of a lot of moisture, high winds and warming temperatures.

Floyer says there are dangerous avalanche conditions in the north Okanagan, Shuswap and Revelstoke areas - and a high risk in the Kootenay - Boundary 

A rock slide on Hwy 97 A south of Sicamous was cleared Wednesday afternoon and the Highway 
 re-opened, but now there is a slide on the TransCanada Highway.  Drive BC says there is a rock slide 8 km west of Sicamous.  The road is reduced to single lane alternating traffic
