Campaign Offices Open

The provincial election writ won't be dropped till next week, but two candidates are opening their campaign offices this week.

Liberal incumbent candidate Eric Foster is opening his campaign office today.   Foster says the Vernon-Monashee riding has received millions in funding and what sets the Liberals apart from the NDP and the Greens is their ability to strongly manage the economy.
His campaign kickoff is from 5 till 8 at 3008 - 34 Street in Vernon.

NDP Candidate Barry Dorval will open is office at 3204-30th Avenue on Saturday, April at 1:00pm.  Dorval, says  as a teacher and a parent he's seen how fifteen years of cuts and confrontation by the Liberal government have hurt schools, kids, and communities.  He says schools and health care have been being cut and housing is becoming more and more unaffordable.

So far, the only other candidate with their paperwork into Elections BC is the Green Party's Keli Westgate, who already opened her campaign office in the old  Visitor Centre on Highway 97.

Candidate nominations for the 2017 Provincial General Election are scheduled to close at 1 p.m. on April 18.  The election is May 9th.
