Kin Race Track Court Case Begins
A bitter legal fight over the use of Kin race track is slated to begin Monday in BC Supreme Court in New Westminster.
The Okanagan Equestrian Society wants to keep the Kin Race Track for horse racing, while the City of Vernon and Regional District of North Okanagan have other plans for the site.
The battle has been brewing since the society was evicted from the track seven years ago by the regional district and city, but a spokesman for equestrian users says covenants on the land should favour the society.
The last horse racing at the Kin Race Track was in 2013, and an arson fire destroyed the grandstand a year later.
