Police investigate a string of vehicle thefts in the South Okanagan

RCMP continue to investigate after a string of car thefts that occured over the last week.

Corporal Don Wrigglesworth says a 35-year old man was arrested in West Kelowna after he was found in a stolen 2015 Dodge Ram truck prior to the Thanksgiving long weekend.

The truck was left idling in the driveway of a Fairway Avenue residence in Penticton when it was taken.

The man faces charges of possession of stolen property and breach of probation.

In another incident, a resident of Princeton-Summerland Road reported his 2005 GMC pick up was stolen after the vehicle was left unlocked with keys in the glove box.

On Monday night, Wrigglesworth says a 1993 Dodge Caravan reported stolen from Peachland, was left in a driveway on St. Andrews Drive in Kaleden, after a man with his face covered was caught on camera disconnecting the security camera in the garage.

Later that night, a neighbour reported a stolen 2017 White Ford Escape.

Wrigglesworth reminds residents to keep valuables locked up at all times.
