Spring is Coming
Once we're through March, Environment Canada assures us it'll begin warming up
Environment Canada Climatologist, David Phililps says it was a winter of misery, not just here, but right across Canada.
He says there was no El Nino that gave BC it's 3rd warmest winter, and warmest spring ever in 2016, and that's why this winter was so difficult. He says it was the coldest winter in 45 years. Phillips says this is why BC is a bit behind in warming up this spring and why March will end on a cool note.
Phillips says this spring has been complete turnaround from last year when El Nino brought us the warmest spring in 70 years.
He says a steady warming will begin at the end of March - and temperatures for April and May are expected to be normal to above-normal.
As for the summer, he's also predicting above-normal temperatures.
