The 16th Annual Have a Heart Radiothon will take place from 6am – 6pm on Thursday, April 25th, 2018 outside the main entrance of Village Green Centre.
105.7 Sun FM is committed to helping children in the North Okanagan and because of your continued support, we were able to raise over $82,000 in 2018! Last year these funds helped to create the first dedicated Pediatric Oncology Treatment Room for children, and their families, undergoing chemotherapy treatment at Vernon Jubilee Hospital.
This year, our goal is to raise funds to support the Vernon Jubilee Hospital's Maternal Child Care Ward by purchasing new equipment for newborns and their mothers during their stay at VJH. Included in this much needed equipment purchase are:
- 12 baby bassinets ($48,000) - The bassinets VJH currently have are at least 20 years old.
- 2 Newborn Isolettes ($56,000) - Used for newborns who need additional support. Provides thermoregulation in a safe environment for baby.
- 1 Transcutaneous Bilimeter ($9,700) - A hand held meter that will decrease the amount of blood draws the babies will receive following birth.
Watch Betty & Jerhett (and April) checking out VJH's developments being made from your Radiothon donations from last year, and information about what's desperately needed this year during our 2019 Radiothon!
We at Sun FM are grateful for your past support and invite you to once again be a part of this exciting event. All donations and challenges will be acknowledged on-air during Radiothon. For any business donation over $500, we will reserve a high-profile time slot for a representative from your company to pledge to us “live” on-air during Radiothon. This will also be your opportunity to challenge others. We want to highlight the efforts of individuals or employees and their involvement in the community and share your stories!
Please contact Ben Dirnfeld, Promotions Coordinator at 105.7 Sun FM (250-545-9222) as soon as possible to confirm your participation in this year’s event.
The Sun FM Have a Heart Radiothon will make a difference. Please join us in supporting our community hospital!
