  • Toys for Tots to Teens

    With the goal of no child or teen going without this Christmas in Penticton, local organizers have come together to grow the 2017 Toys for Tots to Teens. The holiday season is quickly approaching and local businesses, Cascades Casino and Canadian Tire are hosting the community toy drive on Friday, December 1st. Cascades Casino will host a morning breakfast toy drop off at their location from 7:00 am – 9:00 am. There will be a complimentary breakfast provided by The Buffet, while Santa and local school choirs will be spreading holiday cheer in Match Eatery & Public House. Later during the day, Canadian Tire will be hosting the toy drop off from 2:00 pm-6:00 pm with IGA and Tim Hortons providing refreshments.

    The Ooknakane Friendship Centre has organized a sock drive for the Penticton & area homeless. Five days a week the centre opens their doors to the homeless or those in need, for a hot coffee and a small, by donation breakfast. With the cold weather coming, their drop-ins need SOCKS. Sock donations can be dropped off at the Ooknakane Friendship Centre, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.   • Rotary Fundraiser - Starfish Pack

    You're invited to the Barley Mill on Thursday, November 30, to raise money for the Starfish Pack Backpack program. This program will feed an elementary school child with nutritional food every weekend. All proceeds from this event goes toward purchasing food for these backpacks. Tickets available at the Barley Mill for only $20.
  • Canadian Diabetes Association - Clothesline Drop Boxes

    The Clothesline program takes donations of gently used clothing and households items and sells them to raise funds to support the work of the Canadian Diabetes Association. The Canadian Diabetes Association uses this money to fund research for a cure for diabetes, raise awareness about the seriousness of diabetes, educate those with diabetes on what they need to do to manage their disease, and send children living with diabetes to summer camps. People that wish to donate to us can either use one of our drop boxes located around town or call us to schedule a free pick up.
