    Weezer with special guests, The Trews and The Flatliners, are making their way to the South Okanagan Events Centre, in Penticton, this upcoming April 8th. Weezer is an American rock band who formed in Los Angeles, CA in 1992. Currently, the band consists of Rivers Cuomo (lead vocals, lead guitar), Patrick Wilson (drums), Brian Bell (rhythm guitar, backing vocals, keyboards), and Scott Shriner (bass, backing vocals). Since their start, Weezer has sold 9.2 million albums in the U.S. and over 17 million records worldwide. Their catalogue has included megahits such as “Buddy Holly,” “Undone (The Sweater Song),” and “Say It Ain’t So,” earning the band Grammys, MTV Video Music Awards and more throughout their career. In 2016, their tenth studio album was released, Weezer (The White Album), a self-proclaimed beach album that debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Rock/Alternative chart and top 5 on the Billboard 200 chart.   • An Evening with City and Colour

    City and Colour is coming to Penticton on Monday, April 10, at the Cleland Community Theatre. City and Colour will perform in an intimate theatre environment visiting 25 cities from coast-to-coast, many for the first time, coinciding with Canada’s 150th anniversary. Dallas Green will perform songs from his vast award-winning catalogue, accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Matt Kelly from City and Colour’s touring band. Tickets on-sale Friday, February 3rd, at 12:00 pm.
  • The Offspring and Sublime with Rome

    South Okanagan Events Centre, 853 Eckhardt Avenue West - Penticton
    The Offspring and Sublime with Rome is coming to the SOEC on Saturday, July 8th. The California punkers, The Offspring with lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Dexter Holland, bassist Greg K., lead guitarist Kevin (Noodles) Wasserman and drummer Pete Parada have been on the music scene since the mid-1980s. They are expected to release a new album this year, although no date has been announced. Sublime with Rome includes former Sublime band member Eric Wilson and singer and guitarist Rome Ramirez who’ve played together since 2009. Tickets on sale Friday, March 17th.
  • Fresh BC Talent Quest - Season 5

    Performer registrations are ongoing until April 1 for ages 9 - 18 years. All acts and skill levels welcomed. Performer registration ($35) fees include Performers Music Workshop - Saturday, April 8, at the SANDMAN Hotel. Preliminary round shows are scheduled on Saturdays starting April 22, April 29 and May 6 at the Elite Restaurant (340 Main St.) in Penticton. Finals are on Saturday May 13, at the Orchard House hall. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 winners in each age group and there will be special gifts for all performers. Cake and celebration to follow. All shows are open to the public and door donations would be appreciated in support of our SEASON 5 - Talent Quest show.
  • Boys and Girls Club - Bikes for Kids

    Bikes for Kids is a campaign to provide kids in low income families with bikes. There is nothing greater as a child as when you get a bike, whether it is the first time or your third bike. Also it will provide exercise, and a means of transportation for these families. If you wish to donate a new or gently used bike to the Bikes for Kids campaign, please drop them off at Skaha Ford (198 Parkway) from March 1st - April 14th. If you wish to donate cash, please drop off at the Boys and Girls Club office (1295 Manitoba St.). On April 15th, join us for a BBQ at Skaha Ford from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

    PDSCL is hosting its inaugural Spring Break Bike and Parts Sale starting March 15th until March 31st. We have a great selection from toddler bikes to adult bikes and BMX's to mountain bikes. Used bikes start at only $30! In addition, one lucky kid will walk away with a free full suspension mountain bike, a 20” Mongoose Wired!
