2019 Artist in Residence program
The City of Fredericton is launching a new summer Artist-in-Residence program in Odell Park.
In a press release, the city says space will be provided to an artist (or artists) for a two-week period to work on existing projects or develop new ones in the natural surroundings of one of Canada's best old growth forests.
The residency includes a community engagement component which may include an artist talk, workshops, scheduled open studio hours or another activity proposed by the artist.
The city says the residency will be available during July and August and includes a stipend of $500 per week, and accomodation and travel expenses are not provided.
The residency is open to all artists working in any medium and the artist is expected to be in residence during the day, Monday to Friday, in the bottom level of the Odell Park Lodge which offers indoor and sheltered space to work outdoors.
Applications will be accepted until March 29, 2019 and the city says artists will be notified in May.
