Aggravated assault charge laid against four people after Saint John stabbing

The Saint John Police Force is investigating an incident at the McAllister Mall that resulted in a 31-year-old man being stabbed several times in the buttocks.

Staff Sergeant Tony Hayes says the current version of the story is that an altercation happened in the CIBC parking lot Thursday evening, and the victim ran to the mall parking lot.

He was followed by four people and the fight resumed, with the man being stabbed in the rear end.

The suspects fled in a Honda Accord and were later located with help from the Kennebecasis Regional Police.

A 17-year-old boy, a 19-year-old man, a 19-year-old woman, and a 29-year-old woman were arrested and all face a charge of aggravated assault.

Staff Sgt. Hayes says the victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, but has not been very forthcoming with information.
