Another dead North Atlantic right whale discovered

Officials are investigating the discovery of yet another dead North Atlantic right whale.

The Times & Transcript reports the latest carcass washed ashore along the coast of Martha's Vineyard on Wednesday.

There have now been at least 12 right whale deaths so far this year, including 10 in the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

It's a huge blow to the population of the endangered mammals, which is thought to be around 500 animals.
