Arson charge laid in early morning fire in Kent Junction

The RCMP have charged a 20-year-old man with arson following an early morning fire in Kent Junction.

Police and firefighters were called to the scene around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday on Route 126, which caused minor damage to a house by completely destroyed a nearby shed on the property.

Four people were home at the time, but no one was injured.

Daniel Duguay, from Kent Junction, was arrested around 4:15 a.m. and has been remanded in custody pending a court appearance Thursday on the arson charge.

Police say they don't believe this incident is related to other suspicious fires in the area.
