Atlantic Lottery recalls several Breakopen games

Atlantic Lottery is recalling seven Breakopen games due to a "print process error" by one of its vendors.

The corporation says it was made aware of the error by a retailer and immediately began an investigation.

It says officials sent a certified information systems auditor to the product vendor site to look into the matter.

"The barcode scans on the affected Breakopen games scans correctly, however, there may be a discrepancy between the barcode information and the ticket face," the corporation said in a news release. "Because this may occur on any ticket, not all prizes are being claimed."

The seven recalled games and corresponding game numbers are:

  • Criss Cross 2241;
  • Flaming 7s Bonus 2244;
  • Match 3 Bonus 2248;
  • Super Bar 2240;
  • Criss Cross 2246;
  • Vegas Strip 2250; and
  • Vegas Strip 2251.

President and CEO Brent Scrimshaw says while the error is affecting less than one per cent of Breakopen tickets, removing the product is the right thing to do.

"Our players are our number one priority," said Scrimshaw. "There's no room for error when it comes to our player confidence and game integrity. This is affecting a small amount of product but it's the right thing to do for our players."

The corporation says it is in the process of contacting retailers to let them know about the problem, adding that unaffected tickets will remain for sale.
