Call for proposals underway for Healthy Seniors Pilot Project

A call for proposals is now underway for the first round of projects under the $75-million Healthy Seniors Pilot Project.

Government says the project, which will be carried out over three years, will aim to help improve the aging experience for seniors not only in New Brunswick, but elsewhere in Canada.

Seniors and Long-Term Care Minister Lisa Harris says government is always looking for innovative ways to help seniors remain active, healthy, and involved in their own communities.

Government says the $75 million investment, which was provided by the federal government through its 2018 budget, will be directed toward a wide range of applied research initiatives to encourage healthy aging and improving the quality of life for seniors.

The funding will be available for government and non-government groups to initiate projects that encourage healthy aging.
