Calls to increase fines for accessible parking violations

Should the fines for accessible parking violations be increased?

Ability New Brunswick has sent a letter to the province's eight cities, asking them to revise their municipal parking bylaws and increase the fine to $172.50.

Haley Flaro tells the CBC that misuse of accessible parking spaces is a growing problem, and there's not enough deterrence or enforcement.

Fines currently range from as low as $15 in Miramichi to as high as $125 in Fredericton and Bathurst.
