Canadians protest Trudeau's broken electoral reform promise
Protesters have staged demonstrations across the country to oppose Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's broken promise on electoral reform.
Demonstrations were held in more than a dozen communities on Saturday, including Fredericton.
Andrew MacLean of Fair Vote Canada told CTV Atlantic that many Canadians voted Liberal because of the promise, and are now beyond disappointed.
When asked about his decision at a town hall meeting on Thursday, Trudeau said reforms would not be in the country's best interest.
He suggested any changes could open the door to extremist voices and fringe elements.
