Cardwell Farms Compost Products Inc receives federal, provincial funding
The federal and provincial governments are investing nearly $190,000 to help a Penobsquis company purchase new equipment and expand its exports.
Cardwell Farms Compost Products Inc. will receive almost $71,000 from the province through Opportunities NB, and close to $118,000 through the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency’s (ACOA) Business Development Program.
The funding will help the company buy new machinery and build a facility to house the equipment, and the province says they're also looking to hire two additional full-time employees and one part-time employee.
The company processes about 65,000 tonnes of byproduct from the forestry, aquaculture, horticulture and agriculture industries annual, creating organic compost products and other goods for the horticultural and agricultural industries across Canada and the United States.
