City of Fredericton announces new Fire Chief

The City of Fredericton has announced that Deputy Fire Chief Dwayne Killingbeck has been named as the new Fire Chief.

He replaces out going Fire Chief Paul Fleming, who retires on March 15th.

Fredericton CAO Chris MacPherson says the decision follows a job search and interview process over the past several weeks.

Since joining the City of Fredericton in 1996, Killingbeck has held several roles within the Fredericton Fire Department.

The city says he was hired as a firefighter in 1996, become Lieutenant in 2005, Captain in 2008, Acting Platoon Captain of Platoon 2 and 4 (and Fire Suppression) in April 2017, and most recently Deputy Fire Chief since May 2018.
