City prepares Canada Day celebrations, reminds residents of upcoming closures

The City of Fredericton is reminding residents of upcoming closures to accommodate activities planned in the downtown area for Canada Day celebrations.

Westmoreland Street Bridge will be closed from 9 p.m. Sunday until approximately 12 a.m. to both vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

Boating access to the Saint John River will also be restricted Sunday to below the Carleton Steet piers or past the Small Craft Aquatic Centre from 9 p.m. until 12 a.m.

The city reminds motorists of the two Park and Walk locations near the downtown core, one on the north side of the city and one on the south side.

It encourages residents to park their cars and walk or bike into the downtown core.
