City seeks Planning Advisory Committee volunteers

The City of Fredericton is seeking applications for the Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) when vacancies are available.

The city is asking interested residents to submit a letter and brief resume demonstrating their experience in land use planning, engineering and/or architecture and other related fields.

To qualify as a member, a person must be eligible to vote under the New Brunswick Municipalities Act and be a resident of the city.

The nine member committee consists of City Councilors and city residents who are appointed for varying terms up to three years, with meetings on the third Wednesday of every month at City Hall.

According to the city's website, PAC's role is to advise Council on issues relating to rezoning, subdivisions, and amendments to the Municipal Plan, as well as to consider and make decisions on variances from the Zoning By-law.

Appointments are volunteer positions with no remuneration provided.

Applications can be submitted to the Office of the City Clerk, 397 Queen Street, by fax at 460-2905, or to cityclerk@fredericton.ca on or before Wednesday November 28, 2018.
