Cooke Aquaculture sending boats, sandbags to help support flood relief efforts
Cooke Aquaculture has announced it's helping to support flood relief efforts.
A news release from the company says it is sending three boats and professional personnel to the Grand Bay-Westfield and Kennebecasis Valley areas.
Joel Richardson, the Vice President of Public Relations with Cooke, says the three boats can hold up to 36 people and can be used to help move people or goods from flooded areas, adding that they can also be used to transport emergency personnel and for emergency response needs.
The Charlotte County company also sent 10,000 sand bags to the area Wednesday.
The boats are being trailered Thursday from St. George for staging and assignment by the New Brunswick Emergency Measures Organization.
