Council approves liquor licence for Milda's Pizza and More Café
A downtown Fredericton restaurant located in a residential neighbourhood has been granted a liquor licence.
City council approved the third and final reading of a zoning amendment for Milda's Pizza and More Café during Monday night's regular meeting.
The restaurant has been located in the Charlotte Street Arts Centre since 2015.
"Staff believe the applicant has demonstrated the ability to operate on the subject property without negatively impacting the surrounding neighbourhood," reads a planning report dated March 15. "In addition, the applicant has consulted thoroughly with neighbours and customers, who have indicated lots of support for the application."
The city received dozens of letters of support for the application and only one letter of opposition.
As part of the approval, the restaurant can't be open past 9:30 p.m., it must be closed on Sundays, and can only serve beer and wine.
