Cyclist struck in Woodstock hit-and-run incident

Police in Woodstock, N.B., are looking for the driver of a car who they say hit a cyclist over the weekend.

The Woodstock Police Force says the male cyclist was struck on Deakin Drive near the Carleton Mall around 6:45 p.m. Saturday.

"The male sustained injuries that required medical attention and was taken to the Upper River Valley Hospital, where he was treated and released," police said in a Facebook post on Monday.

Police say the cyclist was struck by a red car — possibly a Toyota Camry or Corolla — which fled the scene and turned into the Carleton Mall parking lot.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Woodstock Police Force or Crime Stoppers.
