Driver charged after pedestrian struck in Fredericton

Fredericton police say a driver has been charged after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Prospect Street.

Spokesperson Heidi Cyr says it happened in the intersection near the Tim Hortons around 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Cyr tells our newsroom the victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

She says the driver of the vehicle was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

No other details about the driver or the pedestrian were available.
