Eight month drug trafficking investigation leads to arrests in New Brunswick
Two people from Petit-Cap have been arrested in relation to an eight-month drug trafficking investigation.
RCMP officers obtained a warrant and searched a home on Route 950 on May 2nd, seizing a large amount of methamphetamine, cocaine, hydromorphone, oxycodone, cannabis resin, marijuana, cash, a prohibited knife, and other items police say are used to facilitate drug trafficking.
The Cumberland County Street Crime Unit from Amherst, with assistance from the RCMP Southeast District Crime Reduction Unit from Shediac, made the arrests.
32-year-old Mario Clement Leblanc and 41-year-old Sally Cormier each face six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of items used to facilitate drug trafficking, possession of a weapon while prohibited, and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.
They appeared in Moncton Provincial Court on Monday and were remanded into custody pending their next court appearances.
