Emergency crews rescue missing dog from N.B. highway

The case of a dog who went missing along the Trans-Canada Highway in New Brunswick has been solved with a happy ending.

CTV Atlantic reports that police were called to the scene of a single-vehicle accident near Oromocto on Friday night.

Although the driver wasn't injured, police tell CTV Atlantic she reported that her dog Sherlock was missing.

Emergency crews searched for the dog, calling out his name and travelling along the highway looking for tracks in the snow.

CTV Atlantic reports that the rescuers found Sherlock tangled up in his leash after nearly 2.5 hours of searching.

The men said they would not return home until the case had been solved.
